Tuesday Night - Boredom Inspired Vid

Ok, Pullups. Yes, close grip... beats not at all, right? Am working on the wider grip. Those blue handles mess with my grip, I can't hang on to them for very long. I really must cut those off sometime so I can get with the program for a wider grip.

I haven't watched the vlog -I try to limit vlogs as they eat into my internet bytes :(
However-I read what you said about your grip for the pull-ups....straps work wonderfully-also there are these "versa grips" on the Jenny Lynn site-I bought some and they are great for pull-ups and pull downs-awesome really! Makes a huge difference.
I love pull-ups!

thanks Raechelle. the vid is only about 3mins long, so it shouldn't slow you up too much if you choose to watch.

thanks for the tip tho, I might have to look into those!

I'll check it tomorrow since it's short-it's the long 9 minute ones that eat into my bytes :)
Cheers!

aww, rats. sorry about that. not sure how to solve that one! :-) no new computer in your future? :-)

It's not the computer-it's the amount of download we get with this new satellite internet-will probably upgrade from 2000 to 3000mb's per month-
right now if I watch 3- 9 minute blogs on top of regular stuff- it eats about 150 mb's per day-but that's probably more info than you really care about..sorry!
take care and have a good night-it must be late there-or early in the morning!
Cheers mate!

Whoo-HOOOOO!!!! That's incredible! At one point I was able to do 3 chin ups, but since I hurt my chest, I've stayed away for a while. Hubby just bought me a really nice pull up bar and I'm DYING to try it out. Now, I'm still confused on this one.....is underhand considered chin ups and overhand considered pull ups or vise versa?

yah, personally I think the terms are interchangeable, with palms facing you I think is more widely known as chinups. I'm here to tell you you can't go as high with palms forward tho. at least I can't. I'm still working on those ones..!!!

just to put my 2 cents in...I believe palms facing you are chin-ups and the other way is definitely pull-ups-2 different exercises-you use your bis much more on the chin ups and back much more on the pull-ups.

At the risk of being a smarta#@# , Jackie is correct. A chinup is done with your palms facing you, a pullup with the reverse grip. Both target the latissimus dorsi muscle group in the back but the chinup uses the bicep more and thus is easier. I know all the technical bits because my son is doing a Human Movements degree at university. In any case I’m impressed because the lady I train with can only do 1-2 with assistance! (but she’s getting stronger) Terry
