Inspiration and Motivation Found Here! I work hard at fitness & nutrition and share with you what I do, how I do it, what motivates me & what inspires me. I get into the nitty gritty of my trials & tribulations, barriers & obstacles. And when I realize a success, hard-won or otherwise, you'll be the first to know about it!

Hey Jackie ;)
Cool, the quote made the wall :) I'm famous. well, actually, Dr. Thurman is on the wall. Thanks for the shout out though!
I never thought much about how important it is to measure things. I'm glad you shared that. It does all add up.
In business I always hear the phrase "Success is measured" or something like that. If you can't measure something (web site hits, for example) you never know if a change is helping. And Document the steps, the numbers. Yeah! your spreadsheet, scales, and system is awesome. And for someone who thinks that's too much trouble, from what I saw, you build a system once, then it takes care of you, right?
And you got the results to prove it.
Oh, and I found my weights, did a bit last night, some this morning... it felt good. Long road a head of me, but its nice to have someone to walk with.
Thanks for sharing.

yep, Carlin, you do the work once, and then its streamlined. I don't retype that page every day, I have a template, and a master list of foods and measurements and a master list of my workouts and I just copy/paste back 'n forth, with a little math thrown in for special amounts (a banana is not always 120 grams, right?)... so crazy as all that may seem, its not THAT much work to keep up. However, when I'm working and absolutely fried, and don't keep track, this habit has taught me VERY well to be able to guess much more accurately so I can still remain on track.
thanks for the comments, keep it up, I want to see some sterling 'after' pics in ... hm. 6 months. ok? :-)
hey Jackie
you're on... 6 months, my birthday is in May. That's a good goal. Actually... I "might" be in your neighborhood about that same time too, you could show me the sea wall, I finally got to go back and watch your first videos, Stanley park is beautiful. I've not been there yet. Which means I better start my running now too!
Good stuff, its never too late to start again fresh, eh?

Thanks for that little peek. I do weigh my food, but I've heard that going by grams is ALOT different than going by cups, etc. I need to get a new scale.
Hope you find that workout. I totally understand where you're coming from with that. It drives me INSANE when I can't find something that I KNOW I just had.
Oh! I also wanted to say how much I LOVE the pic at the head of your blog and the other pics you've posted. Your back looks awesome and I LOVE your abs.
Evelyne... yah, once I finally got a decent scale, I started weighing and comparing what the package said a cup was worth weight-wise, and most the time they are way off. weighing, except for liquid stuff, is way more accurate.
another good vlog, weighing things confuses me a little.. is it your own spreadsheet? or do you follow another website programme (not sure if i missed that?)
hey Char, its my own spreadsheet, I invented it from scratch. its a blank template I just copy over from day to day to day and fill in, there are other pages, one that includes a massive master list of foods I eat regularly, that I use to copy/paste into the template as I go thru my day.
ok - so I want the spreadsheet. I twittered you that I wouldn't commit.
But I want to commit.
(Sigh)
Naomi, because its an xls spreadsheet and not a picture, its not something I can upload here. its quite an easy thing to create tho... not hard at all.
:-)
I'll see if I can take a screenshot that isn't cut off and try to upload that as an example to you guys how to do your own.
sorry, the spreadsheet is too large to fit in one screen capture. its not rocket science tho. its a basic spreadsheet, not even any fancy formulas over & above basic addition.
I am posting Carlin's inspiration wall contribution as requested by Twitter tweeter @GypsyOwl
